Defensive tackle Kendrick Law was one of four undersized defensive tackles in Detroit's top cluster of Day 3 targets, alongside Gracen Halton, Jimmy Rolder, and Keith Abney. Holmes posed a hypothetical comparison to the scouting staff: "Would you take [Keith] Abney over [Kendrick] Law?" Dwayne Joseph, the Lions director of scouting, preferred Law in this matchup. Law was ultimately selected by Detroit on Day 3 as part of their defensive tackle focus.
