Hurts shows encouraging signs in new Mannion offense with under-center work and mid-field targeting.

Hurts had an encouraging first day under new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion's system. While the offense wasn't perfect (there were drops and procedural penalties), it looked much more functional than the version dominated by Vic Fangio's defense during spring practices. Hurts worked primarily under center and targeted the middle of the field, departures from his typical operating style. He had positive moments including a strike to DeVonta Smith down the left seam with tight coverage. Hurts also emphasized a new mantra of '100% alignment, 0% entitlement' and stressed 'discipline and unity' at the start of camp.
