He played in the final three quarters of a 2021 game, after Mike White got knocked by the Colts and their head coach, current Jets offensive coordinator Frank Reich. However, Johnson passed for 317 yards and almost led the Jets within striking difference after they had trailed 42-10 late in the third quarter.

STACKED’s take

Positive signalProjection

Johnson's 317-yard relief appearance nearly sparked Jets comeback from 42-10 deficit.

Johnson, who has played for 14 NFL teams since 2008, had one of his most impressive performances in limited Jets action: in 2021, after Mike White was knocked out by the Colts, Johnson played the final three quarters and passed for 317 yards while nearly leading the Jets back from a 42-10 third-quarter deficit; with the Jets down 15, he had them in the red zone with over a minute remaining before a deflected pass was intercepted. He never got another chance with the Jets but then put up another 300-yard game in his only start of 2022 with the Ravens—an impressive ratio of one 300-yard passing performance in zero starts as a Jet.
