Aiyuk remains on the 49ers' reserve/left squad list after the team voided his contract guarantees in December following his refusal to rehab a knee injury with the organization. General Manager John Lynch stated the team is focused on players currently on the roster and will not prioritize Aiyuk's reinstatement, leaving him unavailable for play unless he changes course; the 49ers play the Commanders (Aiyuk's desired destination) in Week 6, but he is unlikely to participate.
