Hyatt, the Giants' third-round pick in 2023, has largely failed to live up to expectations despite displaying elite speed. He caught 23 of 40 targets for 373 scoreless yards on 557 offensive snaps with a 57.5% catch rate, four drops, and 16.2 yards per catch average. He was often used as a "sacrificial receiver"—tasked with vertical routes to threaten the defense but rarely in the read progression. However, his ability to stretch the field adds a dynamic element the Giants desperately needed. Combined with Darius Slayton, Hyatt gives the Giants two speed options to maximize two-man route concepts off play action (Yankee, Mills, etc.). At 22 years old, Hyatt is still developing as a route runner; nuances of uncovering against zone and quarterback alignment remain areas for improvement. His 14.8% drop rate was not ideal, but his ability to track, concentrate, adjust, and secure the ball showed promise on tape. Better protection up front and a quarterback willing to throw downfield could leverage his explosiveness more effectively.
