Armstrong faces long odds to make roster despite college production and coaching support.

Armstrong faces long odds to make the Chiefs roster as a soon-to-be 26-year-old with no regular-season NFL experience. He went undrafted in 2025, failed to stick with the Miami Dolphins or their practice squad, and spent 15 weeks off a team before signing with Kansas City. His path to the NFL has been unconventional: a no-star recruit who redshirted at Texas A&M–Commerce, missed the 2020 season due to COVID, then broke out in 2022 with 62 catches for 1,020 yards and 13 touchdowns before transferring to Arkansas, where he totaled 134 catches for 1,904 yards and six touchdowns in two seasons.
