It's not just about what he can do with his arm. We all know that he can operate on schedule, and I was excited about the potential of seeing him in this system and then how we're going to complement it with the run game. But rarely do things go as planned in the National Football League. And so it's the extension of the play and what he can do in that arena, and he can create as well.

Murray arrives to Minnesota after signing a $1.3 million one-year deal in March following his release by Arizona. He completed 67.1% of passes for 20,460 yards, 121 touchdowns and 60 interceptions over seven seasons with the Cardinals, plus 3,193 rushing yards and 32 rushing touchdowns. Last season he played just five games, throwing six touchdowns and three interceptions. GM Nolan Teasley, who overlapped with Murray for seven years in the NFC West, emphasized Murray's ability to operate on schedule and extend plays outside the pocket to create, not just his arm talent.
