Mahomes was fully cleared for practice to begin training camp and participated in all individual and 7-on-7 drills without any issues on Saturday and Sunday. He showed off his ability to get out from under center and into handoff action while wearing a brace, which he said he was comfortable with because he wore it in college; there are no plans for how long he will wear it. On Saturday, he made a few touchdown-worthy throws in seven-on-seven work, including a beautiful no-look pass in timing, velocity and placement to wide receiver Andrew Armstrong on a slant route between two zone coverages (dropped), and a good back pylon throw to wide receiver Jimmy Holiday for a touchdown. On Sunday, he continued to show off his movement out of under-center looks and throwing on the run, finishing the first seven-on-seven period with five completions over five throws, including a deep route caught by undrafted rookie receiver Omari Evans.
