Yet, I do think McConkie is better than his 25 numbers. He absolutely super quick coming out of breaks. He's clever breaking off an option route and coming back for the ball... I'm giving Herbert a mulligan, and I think McConkie deserves one too... Grant those twin monster chargers tackles a season of health. I think Herbert delivers, and I think McConkie will be the biggest part of that.
STACKED’s take
McConkey deserves a mulligan in 2025 if Chargers' OL improves; Harris sees WR1 upside despite slot limitations.
Harris believes McConkey's 2025 upside was overvalued in 2024 drafts and that he deserves a mulligan given the Chargers' offensive collapse. Harris cites film evidence of McConkey's skill: he's 'super quick coming out of breaks,' clever on option routes, and showed flashes of elite play—roasting Jeff Okuda for a TD in Week 8 vs. Vikings and scoring on a wheel route TD in Week 16 vs. Cowboys. Harris projects McConkey will be 'the biggest part' of the Chargers' passing game in 2025 if Herbert stays healthy and the offensive line improves, though 'not quite as big a part as his advocates predicted last summer.' Harris also notes McConkey is a slot player who doesn't consistently beat press coverage and lacks elite size or speed.
