The 34-year-old wide receiver joined the Patriots coaching staff for a brief stint to observe the team's coaching and scouting operations; he was on the field during all four training camp practices before Wednesday's off-day, assisting the wide receiver group under position coach Todd Downing, before departing after less than a week. His future with the Patriots in any capacity remains unknown, as does whether he will continue his active playing career. A free agent since his Ravens contract expired in March, he has not officially announced retirement.
