McMillan is set to spend more time in the slot as part of a Panthers plan to help him become a superstar in Year 2, moving off his traditional X receiver reps to shake free from coverage blankets. In 2025, McMillan played roughly 15% of his snaps in the slot, mostly in the second half with a lot of success, and the hope is to potentially double that number. McMillan added 8-9 pounds this offseason and looked stronger at practice. Coach Dave Canales and offensive coordinator Brad Idzik believe McMillan can be used like a big 'move' receiver who threatens defenses everywhere, similar to Mike Evans in Tampa. McMillan vocalized his desire to move off his traditional X reps more to impact the game consistently.
