ArticleCowboys 2026 roster rundown: WR Denzel Mims
From the article
It wasn't that long ago that Denzel Mims was a more highly-regarded WR prospect than George Pickens. If Mims can show there's an NFL player in that big body, perhaps that redzone threat gives him an edge over some of the WR competition.

Positive signalValue
Cowboys may help Mims' career as they did Pickens'; redzone upside in 6'3" frame.
The source notes that Mims was drafted higher than George Pickens in 2020 and suggests the Cowboys may be able to help revive his career as they did with Pickens last year. The organization appears to see redzone upside in his 6'3" frame, and Dallas' offense struggled to finish drives near the goal line in 2025, creating a potential niche for a dangerous redzone target. The source frames his signing as intentional scouting work rather than a lottery pick, implying the Cowboys believe there is an NFL player in his profile.
