Carter to compete for safety role after slot CB stint with Jets.

Carter emerged as a solid slot cornerback for the Jets under Robert Saleh and earned a three-year, $30.8 million contract extension before the 2024 season. He fell out of favor with Aaron Glenn and was traded to the Eagles last season, taking a pay cut to remain in Philadelphia. He will compete to take over at safety for the departed Reed Blankenship but is expected to stick in the slot cornerback role.
