Don't be expecting Brandon Aiyuk's teammates to be jumping to his defense anytime soon... The 49ers' issue (in a nutshell) was that Aiyuk's rehab was not being done at the facility and the ghosting that followed... Aiyuk may have signed the contract but didn't wash the stain of all the negotiations off.

STACKED’s take

Negative signalRole

Aiyuk's contract resentment and rehab issues have created a standoff with the 49ers.

Aiyuk's contract negotiation dispute with the 49ers has deteriorated into a standoff over guaranteed money being pulled and trade demands. The core issue stems from rehab not being conducted at the facility and subsequent ghosting; however, the broader problem appears rooted in resentment from the drawn-out 2024 contract negotiations that extended to the final seconds. Aiyuk signed with lingering bitterness and has not moved past the negotiation process, unlike other players who compartmentalize contract disputes once deals are finalized. Teammates are not defending him, and the organization (per Kittle) made genuine efforts throughout the process.
