Blough has never called offensive plays at any level of football and has never held an NFL coaching position higher than assistant quarterbacks coach, yet was promoted to Commanders offensive coordinator. He has been lauded by those who worked closely with him, including Bears head coach Ben Johnson after their time together in Detroit. He must show he can install his system well, game-plan against opponents, and help Daniels and the Commanders thrive with a largely under-center offense that prioritizes a strong rushing game with zone concepts and playaction passing.
