Smith-Njigba was voted the NFL's top wide receiver by The Associated Press preseason survey panel of eight pro football writers, receiving four first-place votes, three thirds, and a fourth (10, 3, and 1 points respectively). The 24-year-old set team records with 1,793 receiving yards and 119 receptions last season, earned a unanimous All-Pro selection, and had nine 100-yard receiving games during the regular season while helping Seattle win its second Super Bowl in franchise history.
