Bleeding Green Nation on Makai Lemon

Lemon quiet in camp; source not confident in rookie's readiness to contribute.

The rookie wide receiver has had a quiet start to camp with no 'wow' factor evident. He didn't look very fast on a vertical target where the ball landed in front of him (unclear if overthrow or route issue). He failed to hold onto a target over the middle when Andrew Mukuba bumped him from behind. He did draw a defensive pass interference or holding penalty during red zone drills, though his route didn't look crisp prior to contact. He has looked natural fielding punts. The source concludes: 'Ultimately, I think the Eagles are putting Lemon in a tough spot as a rookie. They really need him to be ready to contribute in a significant way as a rookie. To this point, I'm not ready to say I feel good about his chances in that regard.'
