Britain Covey has caught more passes than anybody the first few days of camp. Why? Quarterbacks love throwing to Covey because he's smart, he knows the entire route tree and he catches everything. Covey only has 13 catches in three seasons – six of them in one game against the Falcons in 2024 – and it's hard to imagine him having a role in this offense, but he's the perfect practice player because he's going to make the quarterback look good.

However, with only 13 catches in three seasons (six in one game against the Falcons in 2024), it's hard to imagine him having a role in the offense. He's the perfect practice player because he makes the quarterback look good. Covey is clearly on the roster bubble this summer; if he makes the 53-man roster, it will be because of his punt return ability (11.3 average, 9th-highest among active NFL returners with at least 50 returns and 4th-highest in Eagles history). He isn't hurting himself catching the ball the way he has.
