Polk's non-productive rookie season and shoulder injury led to early retirement at 24.

The 2024 second-round pick (No. 37 overall) for the New England Patriots had a non-productive NFL career before retiring at age 24. In his rookie season, Polk played in just 15 games and recorded 12 catches for 87 yards and two touchdowns. A shoulder injury ahead of the 2025 season ended his career before the season began; he was subsequently traded to the New Orleans Saints for a conditional 2027 draft pick but was considered a longshot to make the team out of training camp and has not appeared in an NFL game since the 2024 season.
