NFL - The Athletic on Jayden Daniels

Takes too many hits relying on dual-threat; new coordinator David Blough arrives.

Daniels' dual-threat ability is a double-edged sword. An exec noted: "I think he was a little quick to take off and run last year. They spent a lot of money on that offensive line and drafted some guys, so I think he has to just settle into that position. He has all the talent." An offensive coach added: "Jayden is similar to Lamar (Jackson) in that when he can't run, he's a 3. My issue with him is he takes too many hits, and he gets away with missing plays because his feet can bail him out." Daniels will have a new first-time coordinator in David Blough, replacing Kliff Kingsbury, which could affect his play-calling and approach.
