One of the questions that the Minnesota Vikings are going to have to come up with an answer for relatively soon is what to do with wide receiver Jordan Addison. They've already picked up the fifth-year option on his rookie contract, which would appear to be the precursor to a long-term extension with the purple, and such an extension just continues to get more and more expensive.

Vikings have picked up Addison's fifth-year option and are expected to pursue a long-term extension; Zay Flowers' just-signed four-year, $140M extension with $108M guaranteed sets a market floor for Addison's deal, as both were back-to-back 2023 draft picks (#22 Flowers, #23 Addison). Addison has 175 receptions and 2,396 yards to Flowers' 237 receptions and 3,128 yards, but leads in touchdowns (22 to 14); Addison's production is suppressed by competing with Justin Jefferson for targets as the Vikings' clear #2 receiver. Given Flowers' contract, Addison's extension is unlikely to come in below $140M over four years, potentially forcing the Vikings to pay two receivers 'Justin Jefferson money' alongside Jefferson himself.
