Davis is back for his fifth training camp with the Cowboys after his best season in 2025, but momentum from his Thanksgiving and Christmas performances is not carrying into Oxnard. He has been given third-man status behind Javonte Williams and Jaydon Blue, and switching to Tony Pollard's old #20 has not brought him closer to the backup job. At 28 years old, Davis is no longer a developmental prospect and must clearly outshine younger competitors like Phil Mafah and Israel Abanikanda to secure a roster spot, but his blocking deficiencies have already surfaced in camp drills.
