Kyler Murray threw for about a hundred more yards than J.J. McCarthy in 11-on-11 team drills, which are what really counts. Murray had two bombs- one to Tai Felton who was wide open on a post route that went for a long (50 yard-ish) touchdown, and another one later to Justin Jefferson that was really kind of a jump ball that Jefferson came down with over Isaiah Rodgers and Theo Jackson.

Murray's dominant 11-on-11 performance likely secures Vikings starting QB role.

Murray threw approximately 100 more yards than J.J. McCarthy in 11-on-11 team drills during the most physical practice of training camp. He connected on two touchdown passes—a 50-yard bomb to Tai Felton on a post route and a jump ball to Justin Jefferson over coverage—and demonstrated calm pocket presence, holding the ball longer to find deep shots while also scrambling effectively. The source notes this performance was not close despite similar completion percentages, and expects Kevin O'Connell may declare Murray the starting quarterback within days, allowing him to receive all first-team reps going forward to build rapport with receivers.
