Kyle Monangai was a great story as a seventh-round rookie, but I also think most fans can look at Monangai and realize he's in a great role right now as a complementary back. He probably doesn't have the shiftiness and explosiveness you need out of your primary back.

Monangai is in a great complementary back role as a seventh-round rookie, but lacks the shiftiness and explosiveness required for a primary back role. If Swift departs, Monangai becoming the workhorse is not an ideal solution for the Bears, as the running back room is thin with nothing developing behind Swift and Monangai. The Bears' best path forward is to keep Swift on an affordable deal and develop the RB room in 2027.
