Knox's initial $53.6M deal overpriced; renegotiated down to $20M in 2026.

Knox signed a four-year, $53.6M extension in September 2022 after a nine-touchdown 2021 season (49 receptions, a career high). The $31M guaranteed would rank fifth among tight ends today, but he renegotiated to a three-year, $20M extension in 2026 more commensurate with his production. While he's a consummate three-down pro and mentor, the initial deal was overpriced.
