Diggs is expected to split time between Z receiver and slot receiver roles in David Blough's 2023 Lions-inspired offense. As Z receiver, he can execute deep overs, high crossers, and deep dig routes; while lacking elite vertical speed at age 32, his route tempo and ball skills—particularly back-shoulder throw ability—make him a viable intermediate and vertical threat. The flexibility to play both roles gives the Commanders options depending on rookie Antonio Williams' development.
