Rookie Nussmeier to get extra preseason reps while Mahomes sits out.

Rookie Garrett Nussmeier will get additional reps during the preseason as the Chiefs use the time Mahomes would have spent playing to bring backup quarterback Justin Fields and Nussmeier up to speed. Head coach Andy Reid stated: "We've got new people behind [Mahomes] that need some work. The more reps they get, the better."
