Hogs Haven on Jayden Daniels
From the article
The concern with being under center and running play-action, is that Jayden Daniels will be turning his back to the defense and these play-action shots do take a bit more time to develop. Whoever steps in at left tackle will need to make sure they are capable of protecting his blindside
STACKED’s take
Tunsil's loss forces Blough to adjust play-action protection schemes for Daniels.
Tunsil's injury directly impacts Daniels' protection scheme and play-calling. Under new offensive coordinator David Blough, the Commanders are expected to be under center with a heavy focus on the run game and play-action. The concern is that play-action shots take more time to develop and require Daniels to turn his back to the defense, making him vulnerable on his blindside. Whoever steps in at left tackle must be capable of protecting Daniels' blindside and allowing receivers to work downfield. In normal dropbacks, Blough may keep a tight end in more often to help block or have a running back chip, which eliminates them from being a threat in the passing game.
