Hall's extension signals a return to lead-back role after near-trade deadline scenario.

The Jets gave Hall a contract extension this offseason and plan to feature him more prominently as their lead back. Head coach Aaron Glenn stressed a backfield committee approach, but the focus is clearly Hall first, then Braelon Allen, then Isaiah Davis. Hall has looked good in training camp. This represents a significant shift; had Allen not suffered a season-ending knee injury against the Dolphins, there was a real chance the Jets would have traded Hall at the deadline.
