Though known as an outside receiver for much of his career, Diggs spent more snaps in the slot than outside last season with New England (308 slot vs. 286 wide). In 2023 with Buffalo before his ACL tear, the split favored wide (641-to-296). Head coach Quinn mentioned Diggs' effectiveness from the slot and his 'suddenness inside,' though other league front-office sources indicated slot work would be best for the 32-year-old due to a decline in long speed. According to PFF, Diggs played the 10th highest percentage of snaps from the slot.
