Gesicki signed an extension with the Bengals following a successful 2024 season and is now the primary tight end the team has retained long-term in the Burrow era. However, like Hudson on the roster, he functions as a big receiver who rarely stays in to block, lacking the do-it-all versatility that Erick All Jr. provides; the Bengals' offense has been great even without a true dual-threat tight end, but Gesicki's role remains limited to pass-catching rather than the full-spectrum blocking-and-receiving skill set the team seeks.
