Derek Carr joins UCLA as volunteer QB coach after 11-year NFL career.

Former four-time Pro Bowl quarterback Derek Carr joined UCLA as a volunteer special advisor to coach Bob Chesney after retiring from the NFL in spring 2025. He will assist with game-planning strategy and work directly with the Bruins' quarterbacks, including starting QB Nico Iamaleava and backups Madden Iamaleava, Ty Dieffenbach, Colton Gumino, and DJ Bordeaux. Carr finished his 11-year NFL career with 41,245 passing yards and 257 touchdown passes, remaining the Raiders' all-time leader in passing yards, passing touchdowns, and completions.
