His efficiency suffered massively from the injuries last year... Irving could be a nice bounce-back candidate in 2026 or a massive disappointment that loses work to Gainwell and Tucker all year.

Irving's efficiency tanked from injuries; faces backfield competition despite White departure.

Irving has dealt with multiple injuries in his short career: foot sprain and shoulder/AC joint sprain last year; hip, back, toe, and hamstring issues in 2024. When healthy last year he averaged 20.3 touches and 86.5 total yards as RB17 in fantasy points per game, but efficiency suffered massively from injuries after being a per-touch monster in 2024. Among 49 qualifying backs, he ranked 43rd in explosive run rate, 35th in missed tackle rate, and 46th in yards after contact per attempt. With Rachaad White gone, Irving still faces competition from Kenneth Gainwell and Sean Tucker on early downs and in passing game. The source will buy the dip if he slips but won't prioritize him.
