After ignoring what probably would've been an Alim McNeill sack (on Seth McLaughlin), they couldn't ignore an Aidan Hutchinson sack on the next play. It appeared then the offense was going to be in a third-and-very-long, but after Jared Goff overshot Sam LaPorta, the defense was called for an unclear penalty, giving the offense a fresh set of downs.

In the situational drill with the offense down 14-24 and 3:41 left, Goff had an inconsistent performance. He overshot Sam LaPorta on one play, drew a defensive penalty that gave the offense a fresh set of downs. Later, he misfired to Brock Wright on third down, and Wright couldn't bring in the bobble. In the final drive with 1:38 left, Goff bobbled a low snap from McLaughlin, leading to an Avonte Maddox sack. He made a great back-shoulder throw to Jameson Williams up the left sideline that Williams caught out of bounds, but then threw a desperation ball well behind LaPorta that Thomas Harper intercepted to end the drill.
