Elevated to primary backup (QB2) in Year 2 after spending all of 2025 as third-stringer behind Drake Maye and Joshua Dobbs. Now receiving on-field practice reps in the Patriots offense for the first time since joining the team in August 2025, having previously learned only in scout-team situations. DeVito emphasized the difference: "It's one thing to be in the classroom and be in it and learn and everything, but it's another thing to get reps in it... My first reps were during OTAs (this year). So to be able to actually take everything from the classroom and bring it to the field and physically feel mistakes, that's personally how I learn my best."
