Raiders coach Klint Kubiak confirmed Mendoza will play in Thursday's preseason opener against Arizona and will get "plenty of experience in the game" and "plenty of reps." As the first overall pick, Mendoza is expected to enter after Kirk Cousins plays a series or two, positioning him as the top must-watch player in preseason. Though the Raiders plan to start Cousins in the regular season, a strong preseason performance from Mendoza could increase organizational pressure to turn to him early in the season.
