Murray's expectations are higher than Sam Darnold's were entering 2024, in part because of Darnold's 2024 success with the Vikings. The Vikings won nine games last season with bottom-of-the-league quarterback performance; Murray simply being average may result in double-digit wins and a playoff return. Murray's performance in the two seasons prior to joining the Vikings was also much better than Darnold's was, suggesting higher ceiling potential.
