Ward's rookie season was statistically poor but he got a pass due to situation and showed late-season improvement.

Ward, the 2025 first overall pick, posted hideous rookie stats: 33rd of 38 qualified quarterbacks in DVOA, 36th of 38 in DYAR, 36th of 38 in Pro Football Focus grade (ahead of only the Browns' two rookies), and was near the bottom of the league in successful plays per snap and explosive plays per snap. The Titans were 31st in passing EPA per play and 31st in success rate. However, Ward received grace due to his rookie status and miserable supporting cast under Brian Callahan, who lasted only six games. He showed scintillating highlights and played better late in the season, and his talent was evident despite play-to-play consistency issues.
