Reggie White's 21 sacks in 12 games (1987) remains NFL's best 12-game span.

Reggie White turned in one of the most remarkable defensive performances in NFL history during the strike-shortened 1987 season. In 12 games, White had 21 sacks, including eight games with two or more sacks (still an NFL record) and just one game without any. His 21 sacks remain the most ever in any 12-game span, 1½ more than Aaron Donald had in 12 games in 2018. White fell one sack shy of Mark Gastineau's single-season record of 22 set in 1984, though he did set an NFC record. In eight seasons with the Eagles, White racked up a franchise-record 124 total sacks.
