Second-round tight end facing potential cut or trade after Brevyn Spann-Ford made enough progress in training camp and caught a touchdown in the Rams scrimmage. Spann-Ford is the better blocker with athleticism as a pass catcher, and with both in final contract years, Spann-Ford is the likelier choice to hold a roster spot. Cutting Schoonmaker would leave Dallas with Jake Ferguson and Spann-Ford locked in, plus one of Michael Trigg, D.J. Rogers, or Zack Kuntz.
