Fourth-string running back Jacob Saylors is emerging as a threat for the RB3 spot after a strong preseason Week 1 showing. With Sione Vaki sidelined by a broken nose and eye injury, Saylors got significant playing time in training camp and the preseason opener, recording eight carries for 55 yards and three catches for 28 yards. After being RB4 last year primarily on special teams, Saylors has a real opportunity to upend Vaki for the third-string role if he continues to perform well through the rest of August.
