QB finished 13-of-22 with 130 yards, 1 TD, 2 INTs in preseason game vs. Bengals. Showed authority moving the ball downfield with excellent passes (best: 23-yard dart to Cedrick Wilson) and poise in pocket; one INT was a drop by Isaac TeSlaa, the other hero ball in dying seconds. However, this was perhaps his best opportunity to stake claim ahead Joshua Dobbs on depth chart, and he came up short. Neither QB dominated; Dobbs went 4-for-8 for 32 yards but had modest expectations as recent signee with only days in playbook. Entering next preseason game, Dobbs will have another week of practice, meaning Altmyer loses his advantage. Both QBs now on equal footing; battle could shift weekly.
