STACKED’s take
Allen's emphatic 31-yard TD return from 11-month knee injury shows elite speed and burst intact.
Allen returned from an 11-month knee injury layoff that ended his season after four games last year. In his preseason return against Tampa Bay, he broke a 31-yard touchdown run, demonstrating the speed and ability to press the hole and get vertical that he's always had. Jets coach Aaron Glenn praised his performance, noting 'Put his foot in the ground and get vertical and then run away from people. The speed that he's always had, that's really showed up.' Teammates including tight end Jeremy Ruckert and center Josh Myers expressed enthusiasm about his return, with Ruckert noting Allen's work ethic behind closed doors and Myers saying the team was 'so pumped for him' after a hard year of recovery.
