McCarthy played most of the first half after replacing Murray, completing 4-of-7 passes for 34 yards with a 69.9 passer rating. He connected with TE Ben Yurosek for 7 yards and threw a 17-yard completion to Myles Price on a play where he 'hung in the pocket' and threw 'in between the numbers in the intermediate part of the field,' per O'Connell. McCarthy acknowledged 'several things to clean up' but appreciated 'seeing everything clearly' and operating with different teammates.
