Nabers progressing to team drills this week; Sept. 13 season-opener remains target date.

Nabers is progressing through ACL recovery with expected advancement to team drills this week; he wore a red non-contact jersey during Thursday practice and could participate in team periods as early as Monday. Head coach John Harbaugh stated 'We're looking towards soon ramping him up into some group periods and perhaps some team periods,' and Nabers has looked 'increasingly comfortable throughout camp running, cutting, and acrobatically adjusting to imperfectly thrown passes.' The Giants have not set a formal timeline for return to game action, but the season-opener against Dallas on Sept. 13 remains a target date. Nabers is unlikely to participate in the padded joint practice with Miami or the preseason game due to uncontrolled situations, but normal practices allow the Giants to manage his workload with the red jersey.
