Mayfield's second-half efficiency collapse raises 2026 uncertainty amid stalled extension talks.

Mayfield's 2025 season split sharply in efficiency: first half (Weeks 1-9) showed 7.13 yards per attempt, 4.8% TD rate, 0.7% INT rate, and 0.161 EPA per attempt; second half (Weeks 10-18) declined to 6.47 yards per attempt, 4.7% TD rate, 3.3% INT rate, and 0.057 EPA per attempt. The decline was partly contextual—nine different offensive line combinations and injuries to Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Jalen McMillan, and Bucky Irving—but the efficiency drop is material. Contract extension talks have stalled; his deal voids February 16, 2027, creating uncertainty about his 2026 status.
