Josh Whyle appeared in multiple dropbacks during Love's preseason snaps. On Dropback 2, Whyle shifted before the snap from a 2×2 formation to create a 3×1 Trips look, with a defender following him across the formation and giving Love a man coverage tell. On Dropback 3, Whyle ran a flat route underneath as part of a quick-game Hank play, receiving a pass from Love for a minimal gain.
