Jayden Reed is running a crosser from the slot... Love waits for Whyle's defender to clear the middle, then fires to Reed in the middle. Reed doesn't seem to pick it up right away and drifts a bit, and the ball is knocked away. It's a fine read and throw by Love (especially with the onus on him getting the ball out quickly), but Reed is just a tick late on coming back to the ball.

Reed ran a crosser from the slot in preseason dropback 2, where Jordan Love executed a well-timed read progression, holding Patrick Queen in the middle and firing to Reed in the middle of the field. In dropback 5, Reed was the right decision on a single-high safety look with verts, but Reed was a tick late on coming back to the ball on a back-shoulder throw, resulting in the ball being knocked away. Reed's route running and positioning are sound, but ball recognition timing needs refinement.
