STACKED’s take
Shough's hot streak came against bottom defenses; film will expose weaknesses this year.
Jim Coventry cautions that Tyler Shough's strong finish to the 2025 season is misleading. In his last four games, Shough averaged 23 fantasy points (a top-12 pace), but those games came against the Panthers, Jets, Titans, and Falcons—all bottom-half defenses, including two bottom-5 defenses. In those four games, Shough averaged 293 passing yards at 8.2 yards per attempt with a 5/1 TD/INT ratio. In his five other starts, he averaged only 216 passing yards at 7.1 yards per attempt with a 5/4 TD/INT ratio. With more film available, NFL defenses will exploit his weaknesses. Additionally, Chris Olave is his only reliable wideout, as rookie Jordyn Tyson will miss about two months with an injury. Coventry's bottom line: fade Shough; the hot streak came against bad defenses, and a long year is in store.
