Austin was targeted on one of the first two plays in one-on-one drills for a long completion, and later in an early team period, Dart spotted Austin breaking free along the left sideline and floated the ball to him for an over-the-shoulder reception. Austin's involvement in the deep-ball emphasis reflects the Giants' desire to expand their passing attack beyond what was shown in the preseason opener.
